...look, if you have a personal issue, claim, or problem....post it, otherwise don't pass on gossip from third party sources. You document you are a '13 ZL1 owner, relate to your own personal experiences. As Ben Franklin said...''believe half of what you see, and none of what you hear".
I'm sorry mister helper, i have posted my issues, if you don't like it don't read it. Did i spell everything correct for you???

All that being said and the fact that Chevy is highly value oriented I believe it will be around $60K.

Saying the Camaro has more than paid for itself is quite subjective and really depends on how you look at it financially. All of GM's vehicles together have but the singular Camaro hasn't.

Take 2012 as an example. GM had an operating profit of 4.9 billion for the year. Now divide that by the almost 5 million vehicles they sold. You are looking at a fairly small number of profit per vehicle. The Camaro cost more than 3/4 of a BILLION dollars to bring to market before new models and MY changes were made. How many of that nearly 5 million vehicles were Camaros?

The profits from Every 5th gen ever sold probably wouldn't cover the layout to bring it to market.

That said. Like the Corvette it has paid for itself in brand recognition and bringing buyers to the GM brand but not as a standalone vehicle.

With almost 370K sold you're telling me GM lost money on the Camaro?

If I remember correctly GM said if they sold 90,000 - 100,00 units per year they would be very very happy..... which means they would be in very solid profit territory. Obviously they are very very happy.

a few words of caution:

We have not finalized how Z/28 will be allocated.

We have not announced the number we will build, but you can be assured that it will be limited.

Please be careful in what you hear or what you are told.

The reality is that we have not brought our dealers into the fold on what our plans are just yet for the Z/28.

Make no mistake - I am not calling this particular dealer out - but I think there are a lot of assumptions in the claims put forth in this thread.

Thanks for the post/update fbodfather.
Nice to know you are still lurking here.... like there ever was a doubt in my mind!

This confirms what my dealer told me... essentially they don't know anything much, yet.

Thanks Scott for the post!

This does then confirm limited production, which Al O alluded to in the Jay Leno video. Al acknowledged the 1500 number Leno asked about, so fair to plan on that being a reasonable number. That then leaves us speculating what the dealer allocation criteria is? Number of Camaros sold? ZL1's sold? Total Chevy's sold? A good argument could be made for all the above.

Wasn't the ZL1 considered limited?

i wonder what a GS Corvette would do against a Z28? If a Z28 actually did cost in the mid 60s that would be a better comparison.

If the Z/28 is priced around 60k then they will sell and I will order one but if they are around 80k-90k then I don't think GM will sell 1/3 of what they would if they are around 60k.
