Just FYI, I had my tires installed today and was told there was enough space, and that I shouldn't have to worry about any rubbing. That being said, I trust JP more than the local Tire Kingdom guy...but I am not going to be tracking the car and/or driving it to it's limits, so I HOPE I'm ok.

I went with the Nitto NT555 G2's in the 295/35/20 and 315/35/20. The tires are beefy, that's for sure. Gives the car a completely different look. I don't know if I would say better or worst looking than stock, just different. Depends what you like to see. Depending on the tread wear, dry and wet traction, I'll have to see if these are worth putting back on when the time comes. They were priced pretty good, about $250 each for the 295's and $230 each for the 315's. Total out the door was roughly $1,100 for the tires + install.

I haven't had much time to drive around on the new tires yet, but they were unable to get my car up on the alignment rack. I did the Hotchkis springs, which aren't too low, but I guess with the front splitter they were coming too close to it scraping, so they didn't want to take the risk.

I am now struggling to find an alignment shop that will do my car! I never thought this would be an issue with only the 1" springs...sigh.

I hate these type of comments but guess Im a hypocrite.

Will running the 295/30/20 on the front and tracking on RS3s cause the tire to roll in the corners?

I know the rears won't as they have a bit of stretch in 285 stock size.

The difference in performance is minuscule. We do aluminum because we can and it ios so damn cool.

The slight bit of roll in the slightly narrower rim will help the front stick better. You are good to go.

Thank you for all the inputs guys. I'm going to give a set of 295/30/20 of streetable track tires a chance.

What I'm really in need of is a 19X10.5/11 wheel and a 305 tire. I'm currently trying to sort out a proper roll bar, harness, and seat but I'm trying to stick with a budget and a time frame between scheduled track weekends. I've previously tried making too many changes at once to other cars and I miss out on a track weekend because the car is sitting on jacks waiting for missing parts or I've not given myself enough time to complete the job.

These are what I have for track wheels. They are relatively cheap and built pretty well. I have 305 Trofeo R Z/28 OEM tires on them now, but since they are 10.5" wide I will probably drop to 295's next

Due to the 22 offset they will stick out a bit in the rear, not too bad maybe 0.5"-1"

EC7s 19x11 rear 10.5" Front. They stick out but not too much. They give the car that broad shoulder look and gets me too much damn attention. "Man that Camaro looks killer", Yo my man wait a minute, what you doing driving my dream car", that kind of attention. Do it and don't regret it. I added 3.27 rear diff to make up for the lower diameter loss and the car hauls like a beast.

Also Pete. There is a guy that has a Camaro SS modified and also a Z28 who goes to Limerock a lot with BBS 20x10.5" rims with 295 35 20s and no rubbing issues but those stick out a bit.
