I agree, one of my cars has vinyl strips and it's starting to crack. I had striping on my 1982 Trans Am, but it wasn't vinyl it was a decal of sorts that you soaked in water and laid on the car. I think they are called a waterslide decal .. like kids tattoos and model cars, very very thin and mine was very durable. And damn near impossible to get off when I got tired of the "thunder chicken" part of it.. heheeh.

They say it's an IOM in the video, which I believe, but the camera makes it look more red in some shots. Still a new video to me at least.

Yes I ordered an SS2/RS with ALL BLACK INTERIOR. I did not want the "blueish lighting inside".

My dealer and GM have confirmed that I will have orange ambient lighting!

Not sure about you or the car you ordered, or whether or not you ordered a V6 or just an LS or whatever lesser packages/models are out there...... although my dealer said orange cars that have ambient lighting will have orange lighting inside.

I am getting one with orange lighting, black interior, RS package, SS model.

Here's the equasion:

IOM SS2/RS + Black Leather Interior - IOM Interior = Orange Ambiant Lighting

Not attempting to be rude, but the only way this is possible is through some loophole like mentioned before. Is this what you did?

Here's the reason.

IOM cars automatically get blue lighting inside the car. When you order the IOM interior at an extra cost, they lighting changes to IOM as well. This information has been provided in ALL ordering information we have and has been verified BY GM employees. Now...and again....IF you did something different with your dealer and GM, that is something that we have to know to understand HOW you got your order to be the way it is. Personally, I think that would look pretty darn cool the way you explain it.

You have to understand, we need to know "how" you got it this way....or if someone just told you.

I didnt do anything with my dealer. He was in a video conference meeting with the GM reps and they said the IOM cars that have interior lighting will have orange lighting and not the blue even if you dont order the orange interior package. I did not like the orange door panels so I did not opt for that.

You're welcome to contact my dealer and ask about it, but that is what I was told since I specifically asked him to talk to GM about it.

On another note, Remember from a month ago when the motortrend z28 issue was out, and it was IOM with white BB style stripes?.weeeeeeelllllll i am thinking of getting a IOM car and getting it painted with BB style stripes on it

Bewenched - have you at least asked your dealer for supporting documentation? I spoke with a few GM people already including those in the plant and a GM trainer who is responsible for training Ontario delaerships sales staff and they all had no idea what you are talking about.

This pic is a relief to me. I have yet to see an IOM interior car with the proper IP showing the red rings around the gauges. The CTF car I was with tonight was an early car without the ABL working and had an IOM interior with the blue circles around the gauges.
