5 years of continuous profit loss...I would most likely have left 3 years ago.

Hope you guys can build a new plan or direction before it's too late. Good luck. I hate seeing guys lose a job they actually like.

I guess it depends. If YOU are the reason or part of the reason the company is losing money, then yes, you probably need to go.
If you're doing what you can to produce for them and for whatever reason they're still losing money, then you need to look at the 5-year plan (if they don't have a 3 to 5-year plan going forward, then YES...pack up and run) and try to pinpoint why they're losing money. Sometimes, as in life, market conditions and other external factors may override a company's best efforts to make a profit. But if you believe management just isn't making the right decisions, then it might be a good idea to go job hunting.

i'm here checking up on you.
jk my advice is to sit down and write the positive things about your job and the negatives. if the negatives outweigh the positives then leave. Also take into account what the company is doing to turn the boat around. |

I'm in a similar situation. It's obvious to me that the company is limping along, after over a year of layoffs, maybe a dozen rounds, in order to just keep on keeping on while the end-game plays out. Lots of management still, very few people doing the work, and they even laid off people who were very busy and who would be playing big roles in impending off-site projects that the customer has already paid for. It tells me that there will be no "next time" for that, and we know it.
The elephant in the room is so obvious but management won't address it. Ominous.

We have a competitor close by and they are doing well so it's not like there is no business. How do I know they are doing well you ask? I worked there for 8 years till the economy went in the toilet. Plus many of the management worked here for many years and I know them all well. Would I go back? No.
