Vitesse Motorsport throttle controller

Just installed unbelieveable the different make feels like extra 75hp and feel like moved the torque curve lower in the rpm range.i will kill myself in the highest setting just keeps breaking the wheels loose. Best bang for the buck $184 shipped to the house.

Plug and play? Does this go into the OBD 2 port?

Prob'ly like sport mode on my CRZ beater... just increases thottle openings at smaller pedal movements so it feels like more power.

I mean, the psych effect is real, but makes clutch and throttle handling more of a chore.

Plug and play. Feels like throttle open faster just hits the tires harder.

Not one of you Z28 guys, but I figured I would give you my observations/opinion in order. I have mine set on sp5, sp9 is not useful on the street in traffic, but it is fun. This thing is way worth the money, definitely buy it and try it.

1. Rev matching downshifts is a lot easier/better/smoother. Only have to move the pedal 1/4-1/2 way down. Can down shift and the car does not move. Positive

2. Throttle response on a roll is about a .1-2sec faster. Doesn't seem like a lot, but I get the jump on other cars immediately, 1-2 car lengths. Positive

3. Manipulating the throttle in a turn at limit of traction is a lot more refined/precise. Positive

4. Speed shifting is also more refined/precise/quicker. Positive

5. Accelerating on the freeway in 6th gear is better and more refined. Positive

6. Normal driving/shifting on the street requires more attention/finesse. Negative

7. MPG goes down, on the a lot more. : ) Negative

8. Since the throttle is more sensitive, driving rough roads on the street creates a surging effect because your body is bouncing with the bumps which moves your foot. Negative

9. All the negatives can be corrected by adjusting the controller. Positive

10. Adjusting the controller all the time is a pain. Negative

Good to have feedback. I have read some of the threads and they seem overwhelmingly positive regarding the Vitesse product.

I am forever skeptical about these type of products and just say to myself, "If you want better throttle response, push on the pedal HARDER," but I have a feeling this might be one of those "If you try it, you'll understand" things.

Even though I have HPT and can mess with virtually every parameter, this product doesn't actually mess with the tune and (thus) your power train warranty. It IS tempting, but I'm not even close to break-in miles on mine.

Sp5 seems to be the sweet spot.sp9 will get you killed in the street with traffic just to much power.

I see merit in this type of throttle controller as "pushing the pedal harder or faster" won't make as much difference. Electronically, it makes the rheostat action of the pedal happen at a faster rate. At the road course, this would definitely help the soggy feeling of the stock pedal action especially when downshifting/rev matching.

I had something similar on my vette and hated it you couldn't drive the car without spinning the tires off idle it will suck in traffic also.

This!!!!

I put mine on SP5, and the drivability is sooooo much better. Once you get to WOT, it's a wash, but, throttle response is vastly improved. Feels more like a throttle linkage (I'm old.....)

I asked Vitesse if there was a way to connect the VCT to the Shifter (AUTO).
That way you could run a eco setting while in Drive
And a SPO setting in Sport

They said they are going to look into it
