HD (Digital) FM radio

Have been very impressed by HD FM radio we have in another vehicle. Is it correct that GM does not offer this technology at present? I would pay money for an optional radio with HD FM - even better if it comes standard. Of course Apple Music, Pandora, Sirius XM, iHeart, etc. are alternatives, but HD FM is free!

GM does not offer HD Radio in the My Link system in the Camaro.

But GM does offer a developer api for you to create apps on MyLink.

HD Radio stands for Hybrid Digital Radio and is actually a compressed digital signal piggy backing on regular FM analog signal.

This means that if you're listening to 99.9 FM, if your MyLink supports the software, you can toggle it to go to the HD signal on the same station.

In theory, you already have the hardware necessary to receive these signal in your vehicle (since you're able to receive FM signal). You'll only need the application to decode the digital signal and translate it to an audio.

If you don't know programming and just want to plug and play then Kenwood has HD Radio receiver that you can hook up to your vehicle. You may need to do some wire splicing.
