You shouldn't act like everybody that drives one is some sort of enthusiast. 315,587 camaros have been sold, NOT counting 2013. Not all of them care to wave at you.

I do feel earlier camaro owners were more camaro enthusiast and more of the recent purchases are not (does now represent everyone) I use to wave before (we had more camaro enthusiast) but not anymore

I guess it could be, but then I just like acknowledging all the other Camaro owners. Sometimes, I'll blink my lights too. Either way, when it's returned I'm ecstatic!! V6, V8, 5th Gen, I don't care, heck, I'm even happy when it's someone in a Yellow one!!!
