My insurance went down!
Who would have thought it is cheaper to insure my SS over a 2007 Subaru WRX?
I'm not complaining...

well i would assume the wrx, just like my speed3 or a gti or an si are mostly driven by younger people. just compare the crowd on this forum with the any of those communities and i'm pretty sure you'd be able to tell the age difference. and usually they are a lot more immature --> more accidents.
at least that's how i see it. |

There are LOTS of very young Camaro owners on this site. And lots have already had accidents :(

I was pleasantly surprised that the ins. on my 2SS isn't going to be too high. My husband called and the ins. co. said it would add about $700/yr. to our policy.

Wanna know something funny. My 2008 STI insurance cost more then my GTR and the Camaro. Well maybe because i put it as my daily driver but anyhow yes my STI's insurance does cost more then my Camaro.

Before I purchased the Camaro, I contacted my insurance company to get an estimate. They told me it would be about an extra 6 bucks per month.
And of course, to my surprise, it was slightly cheaper. I *still* thought a 2010 SS RS would have been more to insure because the of the value. Plus, I'm not some young kid tearing up the town in my WRX. My wife's car, 2006 Forrester Limited XT, (basically same motor as my WRX) costs almost the same to insure, except collision for the WRX was more.

I just got a quote from geico. I would be replacing the TSX, which costs me $389/6 months. Once I replace it with the camaro, it will jump to $411/6 months. Incredible.

I think part of the problem is the car is not "technically" on the books.
Still, our insurance dropped when we traded in our 15psngr van for the camaro. Probably something to do with being able to carry 14 other people that can sue vs 3.

All state is who I use, they told me because of all the safety features like all the air bags ,anti theft system and the onstar (if you keep it activated) so it can be recovered if stolen and the four wheel huge brakes that it is actually cheaper than most cars to insure.
