Buyers Beware!

So this guy who goes by the name Bob Hernandez told me he has a used procharger kit for sale, and so I emailed him and we talked and he finally sent me some pictures. I noticed in one of the photos that the supercharger seemed a little too beat up for being on the car for 1000 miles so I knew something was up. So pretty quick he wanted me to bankwire the money, so I ask him for some more photos and to make sure the kit was legit. He sends me some more photos, and the serial numbers don't even match.. but that's not the best part. I'll let the photos speak for themselves, but make sure you look real good at the kit on the grass. What some people are willing to do for money is really ****ed up and it's a shame, but please be careful when buying from someone.

Glad you caught on before any funds were transferred. I'm pretty paranoid about dealing with 'people' over the internet, and stories like this just reinforce my cautious nature.

Scammers are pretty much the scum of the earth, preying especially on the elderly. They took my poor grandmother for just about every penny she had twice. My mom finally had to take over her accounts.

What the hell... That's just not right in so many different ways! Glad you caught it before buying it. I have had a few people do this to me on EBAY in the past. My dad even fell for one like 10 years ago. Always ask for pictures!

if you're spending more than a couple hundred on anything coming from a non-business entity on ebay, you're "braver" than I'd be. That's a lot of trust to have in a stranger for something sight unseen. Pictures or not.

I'd be interested in hearing how the conversation went when you pointed out the mis-matched serial numbers. Did he try explaining it away somehow or just stop talking to you and move on to the next victim?

After he sent me the pictures I asked why the serial numbers were different and haven't gotten a reply
