I research the hell out of cars; belt & suspenders. I found nothing. Further, Consumer Reports says if ya gotta have a hot rod, this be the one!

Owned for 4 months now & 2000 miles. Only complaint? The idiotic location of USB ports for plugging in music.

But, man, that sound & rush when hit the fun pedal of a 2SS is breath taking. Excellent cruiser as an added benefit.

I only have a few minor complaints, the paint, the rattles and the headliner.....build quality has gone down from the C5 IMHO

I have seen most of the complaints with the 2016, and even then there are many happy owners of that model year without issue.

If you want the best possible odds on avoiding a lemon, get a 2018.

I have had 4 Camaros in the last 6 years. Out of those 4 they were all 100% trouble free except the ZL1 which had one problem with Stabilitrac. Chevy could not fix it so GM bought it back. I would be much more worried about buying a Jeep.

My 2016 SS was one of the very early ones. All good so far and Chevy has beefed up the CA6 components so you can have trouble free fun and kept the car relatively light. That is why it is a bit expensive.

If I buy another CA6 it will be used. The value drops fast. The CA6 is a steal at used prices.

Many people will only post if there's an issue. I for one haven't had any issues out of mine, but it's also a M6 and it does seem like the A8 has more issues, but again, that's relative.

You will find the same type of posts for the other cars in this class on their forums. Best of luck to you.

Daily driver. The smiles outweigh any negatives, perceived or real. A gem for what you pay for it.

Go for it. You're right about new models having issues. My 2016 Camaro 1LT had a few issues here and there, but it was all covered by the warranty. I switched over to a 2017 2SS back in May and I have been worry free. it is an absolute beast and with the hyper blue it is truly a headturner.

Research was my friend also prior to narrowing down my list for what to really consider. I always keep my cars for 10+ years as that is the only way I can justify the cost, and I know what keeps my interest in a car. So this time around, the '16 2SS was one of my top considerations. The Alpha platform and LT1 engine were compelling. Comparison tests with M4 were compelling. Build quality data showed well. And long term magazine tests showed no troubles other then burning through tires and gas.

I drove the candidates and made my choice. I bought mine out of state as that is where I found the best price at that time. I have had my 2SS over a year now, trouble free. I hope to keep it another 9+ years if I can. Good luck whatever you choose, it's a good time for a real performance car enthusiast. This is supercar performance levels from only a few years ago
