I'm glad his post was copied here, though. I hadn't realized either, that the GT350, even the base model...comes standard with a Gas Guzzler tax. The SS, and therefore the 1LE...does not.

I'd like to revise my earlier statement to say: GT350/TP vs 1SS/1LE....Camaro could be faster for $13300 less.

They do look pretty. But then again, so do the accessory 10 spoke wheels...in black, of course. So many choices!

I am keeping my fingers crossed for DSSV in the 1le . And no knock down modes, just want to start ,press in the clutch ,shift into first and smile.

I don't expect the DSSVs. They are expensive.

Some may be underestimating the GT350. I think these 2 cars are going to be extremely close in performance with the edge going to the one with a track orientation in their favor. The GT350 in any configuration should not be compared to a non-1LE SS in any form. Even with the 6 piston upgrade, it is just out matched. As they should be though, they are not meant to compete it is just so fast out the box that we want to compare anyway.

True they are expensive but I would think Chevy could get a great deal on about 2600 sets of them. In the gen 5 1le you got a lot of goodies for $3,500 .

It's also a very stiff ride. Doubly as stiff as the 1LE. Not sure people would be real happy with them on a 1LE, to be honest.

A set of DSSV struts retails for $3900...for reference.

I agree. People aren't giving enough credit to the gt350.. The 1le will be a great car, but it's not gonna top the gt350. Now the zl1 will be a whole nother story. It's gonna blow shelby out of the water.

Since my 13 1LE is paid off...

I have been dealer shopping for a 350 with track pack...all in $56.7k, The only 350R I found was a distance away and listed for $67.9. For the extra 11k for the wheels, brakes, Recaros..etc..The 350 R sure is tempting.

Pricing a 16 2SS with all the performance goodies offered (Brembo upgrade, Mag, NPP) puts a Camaro at $49k....then add what, $4000-$4500 for 1LE. $54k for a 1LE that for all intents, comparable price wise to a GT350, but not close in tech and performance.

$56 for how I want my 350 built...or a 17 1LE with 70 less hp for the same price?

GM better step up the tuning/weight/performance of the LT4 if they want my bones.

Not close in tech or performance to the GT350? What are you basing it off of? You do realize a fully loaded SS that's 49k which you have pretty much ticked every option on is better loaded than a GT350 with a track pack, right. Guess not.

I love when people keep comparing a Camaro with every option ticked to a Mustang with nothing or only one of its very expensive options.

You don't even know what you want. You're talking about a GT350, a NA v8 Camaro, and then you say GM better step it up with the LT4 and weight of the car to get your money.

I think what you need to do is let Ford know they should work on their suspension tuning and cutting weight as instead.

Right!! The next gen mustang with a performance pack couldn't even beat a old platform 1LE.

The GT350R with ford having lots of time and knowledge about the Z/28 could barley beat it by less than second

1/4 mile doesn't matter to the 1LE. It is and always has been a track package.

Thumbs down

For sure the new 1LE would eat the GT350 for breakfast, the new SS is already close in performance to the GT350.
The one to beat is the GT350R, just wait for a new Z28 or ZL1 and the game would change.
Ford does not have nothing on the table with its Mustangs besides of the great gt350R.
The performance level of the GT350 is nothing compared to the GT350R.
