ok, our 07 Jetta has an airbag fault code.

Now, in 09 the Jetta threw the fault code, (a recognized issue & TSB item)-- which was repaired (new passenger harness etc. etc.)

My question is, if the current fault code is the same issue (passenger harness) is the repair covered a "pre-existing" condition even though we're now out of warranty?

I thought the SRS is warrantied for 10 years?

well, i called vw to ask em- and turns out that last friday a brand new recall was issued on the 06-08 jetta airbag system and our vin was included. sooo- big sigh of relief cause VW and cheap repair costs don't go together in the same sentence!

but to respond above, no the SRS system in a VW is not covered beyond it's 4yr mfr bumper/bumper they say.
