Why is Silver the poster child - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I dont understand why GM chose the Silver to be the poster child for the car. I mean it doesnt stand out or pop at all. The only reason i could think is that its neutral. I know the silver ice guys will be up in arms, but its not the most catching color. Black or red you would think would catch peoples eyes better or even yellow.

yeah i think it shows the body lines of the car the most. The concept was also silver, maybe that has something to do with it.

Boring. The sunfire, allure, grand prix, impala, malibu? IMO just not on the camaro as well.
The camaro should have been an eye catching color. I am personally sick of seeing silver on the car. Just another boring sunfire when it drives by. My 2 canadian cents.

SIM shows the lines of the car best out of all the colors...at least I think so.

The other colors may "pop" more and have the race look...like VR or another color...but overall, the detail and lines will show best on SIM.

Well maybe the concept idea is right. But really the silver color is horrible i know some people like it, and its always been out there. But im sick of seeing it as well.

Pop my Ass.....SIM shows all the body lines and looks the meanest. I leave colors for chick's lipstick and fingernails. Otherwise a machine is a MACHINE and should be METAL COLOR.....not some fruity shade of Red. And the Black one, you cannot even tell what car it is unless in extreme sunlight, and it hides all the body lines and everything else, except dirt and swirl marks.

It shows the lines when it's alone...but when it's with a sea of other silver cars...it kinda just "blends."

IMO a sports car/muscle car should be a bright, flashy color.

It's neutral. If they did IOM or VR, people would get overwhelmed. I guess they had to pick between black/yellow/silver, and black doesn't contrast the grill, etc; yellow is transformers only now; silver is just plain and simple, and the concept was silver. People don't normally hate silver, while some people don't like some colors. Also sort of lets the familiar concept car come to life... Just my two cents.
