No Order Code

Should I be worried? I ordered the car May 18th and the dealer doesnt have an order code for me. But they have just called me last thursday to review my order and asked me if I wanted the painted Black 21" rims or the Machine Aluminum ... Does that mean that my car may be ready for production since they are making sure my order is correct or what? Would really appreciate the help.

Why is he asking about wheels now? If he placed an order he would have the order number - and that order would have had which wheels you wanted on it.

I'd be a little concerned.

Sounds like he's trying to add $5K to your order for 21" rims. Did you ask for them? 20" rims are standard for the RS package. I'd go to dealer and go thru each option you want, and then have the inventory manager print out a copy of the workbench order. That should have your order number and status code.

A LOT of dealers are taking "orders" but not submitting them into the workbench, until they actually get an allocation and consensus.

This hurts you guys, b/c it means that you are not locked into a price. Basically, you will pay the price it costs when it arrives. No price protection.

The GM Workbench is designed to input orders even if you don't have allocations. That way you have a work order number from day one. The dealer will just wait till an allocation opens up and then use your order for it.

The way these dealers are doing these things is a little FUBAR right now, b/c of the demand.

I would find another dealer or demand them to actually input it into the system.

I will call and see. I hope that is the reason or just hope that my car will be built soon.

You should have recieved a copy of your order when you ordered your car so you could double check it, to make sure it was entered correctly. I got one and it had my order # on it. Ask your dealer for a copy so you can check to make sure it is correct.
