Hi Brian,
I'm new here and live in Longmont. I've been looking and asking for a recommendation for a suspension/alignment shop. I'm looking to add lowering springs, sway bars and bushings and then get a really precise alignment. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Paul

And Garth, that's lookin' pretty sick man! Lookin' forward to seeing those new #s.

Agreed Garth. Word of mouth is a good source, so ask the customer. Caring is priceless.

Here's some good info for you guys out there.

Before and After Results on a Mail order tune, VS Custom tune.

This is just for information and by no means an act of negativity.

Car is a 2010 Camaro, Amazing beautiful car. Owned by Ed Kaptanian.
Car is a LS3 M6, with Bolt on's such as Headers w/cats, Catback, cold air intake and Tune.

Ed stated the car performed without issue and no problems were indicated.

As an experiment we strapped her down to the Dyno, tune untouched, and I scanned run checking things over taking her to 6300 rpms. The run recorded a fair amount of Knock (which is indicated on the 1st dyno run at 4400 rpms and 5200 rpms.) The A/F was also lean approaching 14 to 1 A/F.

The customer gave the go ahead to do a custom tune, which resulted in a gain of 17 rwhp and 21 rwtq. In some areas of the graph a gain of 30+ rwhp was seen (at 5200rpms). Also the A/F in the Mid 12's much better / safer.

This type of results can be seen most apparent by Tunes made for Sea level tuned at our altitude.

We have seen similar differences on a current car we are working on this week, which is a 2012 Camaro SS M6, with a SLP Maggie Supercharger 5lbs or boost with the standard kit tuner that comes with the supercharger install. The tune was a little lean and some knock was seen.

If anyone would like to have their Tune checked over here at the shop were offering a deal.

$99 for 3 runs on the dyno with our scanner hooked up recording the run.

You'll get a print out of the dyno graph, with notes and a print out of the scanned graph showing timing, knock and load readings. Might be useful for some people to check things over, results can be left confidential.

Have a good day.

Clint

Hey Garth. Did you have the runners polished on your current maggie or is that a completely different one?

I put the Eibach Pro Plus kit on my 2011, and went to Steve's Alignment at 2nd & Main to have everything straightened out. The install of the lowering springs, sway bars, and bushings was super easy for my hubby, as he's a mechanic. Took about an hour, but he doesn't have the tools to do an alignment. We've always been happy with work we've sent to Steve's for alignments, so we always recommend them to people. Go by there and talk it over with them. They do good work at a reasonable price.

And don't be afraid to try the install yourself. The scariest part is the springs, if you don't have a spring compressor, but there are ways around that as well. My hubby has a compressor, so it was a breeze. I don't know if Steve's also does installs on parts like that, but PM me if you'd like and I can put you in touch with my hubby, who has great labor rates.

Good luck!
Riki

Hey Clint,

I know a ton of the guys have used you for their V8 Camaro's. Do you also work with the V6 Camaro's? I'm getting a supercharger installed next week, and it comes with a tune from the company that developed the kit. I did a baseline dyno test at the Boost Creep, but would be willing to drive down to you if you can work with my car. I know the V6's aren't as popular in terms of have performance modifications done, so it is hard to find people that are willing to put in the time with one. Let me know if you can, and I'll take you up on your deal once I get the supercharger installed.

Thanks!
Riki
