They no longer offer the optout form, but you could still refuse it.

I got an email from Onstar first, and one from the dealer the same day. That is when I took mine in. Then a couple days ago I got the recall letter.
Maybe they are working backwards on the VIN numbers. Newest first going back to the oldest.
Yes, I'm still a subscriber. I finally did get the letter on September 6.

I don't plan to address this until I need something else from the dealer. Maybe by then, they will actually have a policy. Right now it seems that people are having a range of experiences depending on dealership.

I was checking on parts for my Spark this morning and asked my service rep if they had been told not to offer the waiver any more. He said no, they still have the instructions on their computer with the waiver option. In fact he said he had someone sign one just this morning.

I got the letter on Friday. I spoke with the SM at my dealer who happens to be really cool. He told me to just come in and sign the waiver otherwise the notices will continue.

Just got my letter yesterday, there saying you have to send a copy to your lender/bank and/or insurance co., so if they insist that you go to dealer to get it done, it should be done, I want to just sign the waiver!
I went to my dealer a while a go and they told me not to worry about it if I didn't want the new key, just don't worry about it, and something to do with paying a fine if nothing is done?

Who is saying you need to send a copy of the letter to your insurance company?

I've owned other vehicles that had safety recalls come up. Never once has my insurance company or lender ever questioned weather I had taken the vehicle in for the recall or not. The only thing my bank has ever questioned me on was weather I had insurance or not.

Same here. My dealer is doing some warranty work and they had me sign the waiver.

And I work at a major bank doing auto loans, and we don't track recall info for our loans- just the insurance on our collateral.

New Camaro Recall - Ignition Switch System / Key Fob

Nowhere on that letter does it require notice to insurance or lender..., only to a lessee if your leasing out the vehicle.
