It's street legal, not a track only car... supposing it will be limited production like a COPO.

Considering the mass flood of Camaro types already circulating, the z/28 fits well as a limited run for $70k+.

Nope it's not for everyone. It's for collectors to say they have one in their garage. The regulations now a days don't want avg guy to race. So they bump up the price on their race ready cars to keep it at bay. My estimate? 1-5% of those Z-28s produced touch a track. The rest will touch dust in a garage. With a few occasionally joy riding it a little.

And if you did that then people would say this is just stupid. Why would I pay for a for a 1LE with a LS7 in it when I can get a s/c for alot less and be just has fast..

Either way you go people will not be happy.
Ok but that's not my point. My point is that you and Twisty and others are basically saying: "you asked for a Z/28. We gave it to you. It's really fast and it costs a lot of money. Can't afford it? Too bad, get lost."

My position: Chevy guys, they're salt of the earth normal people. And I get it when you say the Z/28 is pure and true to the heritage and all that. I think most people here understand that. But it seems like you can't grasp why GM putting out a car that you basically need to make $500,000 a year to afford would feel like a let down to a lot of people.

My .02 cents, GM & The Camaro Team did an excellent job with the Z28

Secondly, talk about sworn to secrecy ...................... The Camaro Deciples had to known in advance and kept it G4 Classified.................. 8-)

Same here. People have been asking, "Where's the Z-28?" since 2010. They unveil it now and 99.9% of the people asking, can't get one. Wuh...wuuuuuhhhhhhh!

Depending on how you look at it, the original Z-28 RPO was not a $3-400 package, it was much more like $700 added to an otherwise under $2500 car. By the time you got everything that was mandatory on the car it was $3700ish without any RS stuff or deluxe interior..I also typed those prices from memory without looking up the sticker pic I have posted here

That was alot of money when you could buy new cars for $1995 all day long

I'm completely with Hylton and Twisty on this one

Here's a sticker..ever see a 1st Gen Z-28 without posi, 4-speed, power brakes? These prices are added to the base V8 Camaro price also, not a 6 cylinder 3 speed

Not just any ppl, the regular joes chevy fans. I can bet 80% of these cars will be bought up by those that DIDN'T ask for it. That's the problem I see.

I see a base price of $2,700 and a final price, after options, of $3,800. $1,100 difference. Roughly a 40% increase over the base model. Take a $35,000 SS, add 40% and you get $49,000. Hey, it is what it is.

That's be ideal wouldn't it? Nahhh lets mark it with 110-120% increase because so many asked for it. Ah yes. Now were talking

You tell people to "shut up" and that they are "borderline trolling", well you DEFINITELY are. This forum is for people to express their opinions, just because you don't agree, doesn't make anyone else wrong.
I think there are folks that were just blindsided by this. If you were saving and waiting for a Z/28 and then find out it's just a track car it's a bit of a disappointment. There's no point in even discussing the price.

I'm not a fan of Mustangs and could stand to get a new car. I was waiting for this announcement for 2 years. If you're happy with this version of the Z/28, good for you.
If I feel like GM just took the Z/28 badge and threw it in the mud, that's my opinion.I'm not happy about it at all. There's nothing I can do about it, I just have to find another vehicle that CAN be a daily driver.
NO they picked it up out of the mud and polished it to a gleaming finish. This IS a Z/28. What all you guys are asking for is either an SS, 1LE or a ZL1.

For years we faithful Z/28 guys have been hammered that all we wanted was a badge, and we would say it's the car that made the name we want. This car deserves the Z/28 badge, therefore I want it.
