I Come Back From The Dealer And...

So i got my oil changed at the dealer with tire check and multipoint inspection and underhood clean and all that good stuff like fluid top off, and they come back saying they saw some spotting of oil on the cover of the engine (the plastic one on V6) and they are quoteing me for $1,300 for something i dont even know what it is so what do you guys think. P.S i will get picture asap of the multi point inspection so you all can see. Im sad for my camaro

Stop going to dealers for anything not warranty work.

Front timing cover?? That is a fairly large job.

I rarely ever go to the dealer always do my own work, unless you have an warranty issue. Hard to say anything atm with the lack of info.

Dealer should be able to tell you if they gave you a quote to fix it.

Didn’t you just post a week ago about your Camaro misfiring and chugging at a stop light? Are the two things possibly related?

If it's spotting on the cover, that means the oil leak is up top or being flung from somewhere down below.

I'm doubting the ability of your dealer and from what you said they have charged you for some hail mary guesses before. Might this not be another?

IIRC correctly they replaced both engine and motor mounts to fix the chugging which fixed nothing. BTW what exactly was causing that problem?
