Z/28 Replica wheels
Looking to upgrade some wheels on my SS soon and love the look of the z/28 (yes I know everyone and their mother have them already). I know a lot of people go with the MRR z/28 but has anybody tried the OE replica on eBay? I think they go for like $850. Thanks in advance.

I have no experience with any aftermarket wheels but I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for", and for something like wheels, I wouldn't cheap out - one big pothole in these heavy cars and that wheel could crack/shatter.
But that's just me...

I bought the mrr z/28s, do to their good reviews and extremely low issues or defects. Do some research before just jumping into wheels especially on eBay. I bought mine through Phasetek when they had a sale going for them. And they were only $1100.

Good choice. Brought a set for my ride last year and yes it was worth the extra! Changed the whole look of my ride. Brought the black gloss F20*10 & R20*11 Phasetek $1200. Good luck with your wheels

I can chime in here. The MRR wheels are definitely not 'cheap.' I only hope they are not made cheaply too. They don't appear to be. Here's my 2 cents after a year being on the car:
1. They still look great - when you keep them clean* 2. They are heavier than OE wheels because they're not aluminum. 3. The valve stem is inward toward the INSIDE of the wheel and will hit the dampener disks on the back of the front OE Brembo brake pads. You have to grind the corner of the disk off. It can whack your TPMS sensor but mine were ok. 4. All in all, I like the wheels. * If you're anal about brake dust and get gloss black wheels, they are a bit of a pain to keep clean - especially with Brembo brakes.

I would spring the extra money for the MRRs. I ran a few sets of cheap wheels and you can definitely feel the difference. I could never get the cheap ones balanced right.

Good point - ZERO issues with balance on MRR.

After many months of research I settled on Factory Flow form Rotary Forged Z-28 replicas in black chrome. 20x10 and 20x 11 for my SS and ordered them from BestWheelDeals with nitto G2555 TIRES 275 for the front and 315 ffor the rear. I am always nervous about ordering on-line as I was afraid of having issues. After receiving my order I bolted them on my car and went for a ride and can say they were as smooth as silk. The rims weigh 28 lbs. so you save on weight. I can attest that I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. The bonus is the nittoG2555 tires hooks sooooo much better then the stock 275 rear tires from the factory. My car pulls really strong on launch. I can't imagine how it would be with a set of good drag radials....
