He has an SS, it shouldn't void you'r warranty. But you'd want to tune so that voids your warranty.

My dealer honors my tune, honestly It's unfair to just assume they won't warranty it. Call your dealer, tell them who's doing the work and how long they have been in business as well as how reputable they are. If your dealers SM is cool he will let it slide.

Would've helped if I noticed that prior to posting.

To the OP, it is up to your dealer on whether or not they will void your warranty for installing headers. I would ask them.

My dealership would void my warranty for messing with the headers and/or cats or anything major (cams, tune, forced induction, etc).

My dealer has told me they will honor my warranty with headers.

It's different for every dealer. You'll have to ask yours. If you let them do the install they might.

Is it worth to tune the car without putting the headers on? Arent there some tuners that you can reset back to factory settings so the dealer wouldnt know

Only void the warranty if you get your ECM tuned my friend.

The dealer does not warranty your cars guys. They do the work for the warranty, but they submit a warranty due bill to corporate that pays the dealership for labor and parts.

If you toss a rod on that "warranted by your dealer" tuned car, the ECM is likely going to be required to be dumped and sent to mama gm for a look-see. Then, you will find that your warranty for the drive train is toast. Your dealer just provides the service of performing the warranty work for mama GM, so long as mama picks up the $15,000 cost of labor and parts.

On the V6 yes the tune can be returned to stock and go unnoticed. On the V8 it can be returned to stock BUT the dealer will see previous tunes.

If they are performing drivetrain repairs on tuned cars then submitting it as waranty work and claiming reimbursement from GM, they are not reputable.

Not necessarily true, sir. If the tune caused the malfunction that's one thing, but if the warranty work is on say the radiator or the radio or something, why not honor the warranty? And if it's on the drivetrain (for example, the water pump is now covered under the warranty) then GM carries the burden of proof that the tuner caused the malfunction. What if the tune had nothing to do with it, kwim?
