Sti better ?
Look at used one for sale with new motors , #4 piston fail (iirc).
Evo's are cheaper to mod/make more hp per mod .

Where are $250 lease on EVOs ???

My car will never see the road course. Closest one to me would probably be out of state not that I would have any interest. My car does see the drag strip 2-4 times a year. Like me the percentage of SS owners and EVO/STI owners for that matter, will never see a road course but will see a drag strip. I would be happy to meet them at the strip to show them some tail lights and humbly admit they would destroy me on a road ccourse.

"Evo" and "no racing" just doesn't belong together. That's like seeing used crotch rockets in a for sale mag, and they say "never raced".... Please

Found a "deal"
It's $3000 down and $260 for 24 months , or $9200 for 2year renting a car

if you look at STI forums...alot of them actually favor the EVO as far as performance.

But I do agree with them at the EVO's interior/styling is eh compared to the STI.

If you want an EVO prepare to replace the clutch often.

He's really responsible and had the car for a very short time, I'd be surprised if he ran it through the gears at all. Anyways, it was brand new and had the issue that they wouldn't cover, just something to think about.

Same clutch so yes. A buddy of mine had a EVO 9 and it went through several clutches.

Big differences between the Evo IX MR and GSR transmissions.

GSR has the bulkier 5spd you want if you're seeking anything over 450hp and/or tracking the car. MR Transmissions are a 6spd which are not meant for power hungry applications.

And yes, the EVO X MR has the dual clutch paddle shifting thingamabob. Not a fan of the newer X models myself, but I've driven a GSR over a couple of days and can say that it is definitely deserving of the Evolution moniker. Still, I'd take an Evo IX GSR or anything other than the MR any day over an X model or the Subaru STI. Less understeer, and better driver feel.

The double clutch box has issues too, that's the one that my buddy had issues with. I understand cars will have issues, I care that the company handles those issues.

I had a stock 2006 EVO ix MR.. Absolute blast to drive. Low end Acceleration felt beastly when the turbo kicked in, handling was like a go kart, and very stable at speed. It had lighting quick steering. I would think about a lane and without thinking I was there. I had it for a short while, my dumbest choice ever was to get rid of it.

Compared to my SS Camaro (stock), much funner.. EVO is not as quick though. Camaro is more of a grand touring vehicle compared to the EvO
