Update -
Went to another dealership and they are trying to help me out. They got the OK from GM to replace the rear main seal to see if that will correct the issue. The smell eventually went away once the oil life was around 30-40% left but just had another oil change where another dealer made sure to not spill any oil at the top and not cause a mess under. The smell is back and worse then before. No oil leak was found at the oil cooler.

I vaguely recall someone else having this problem and the issue was in the PVC system. Has anyone looked there?

Yes, that was the first thing that they looked at as it is less intensive of a repair. The fumes are much worse then before and having to pull over a couple times because it is causing an asthma attack is not fun to do. I have it just sitting now and driving my jeep until they call and say the parts are in. Wife will have to drive it back, can't risk that ihave an asthma attack in heavy traffic and cause an accident.

Did you inspect yourself to verify that no oil was dripped or spilled on any exhaust components or engine block or just take their word for it? Otherwise I can't for the life of me see how a simple oil change could cause what you are describing and then clear up only to return after another oil change.

I have put the car on a lift and inspected it myself to include the top of the exhaust against the body with a scope. No oil found burning, no oil burn marks on exhaust system and nothing on engine. Only found residue inside bell housing.

How many miles have you driven so far? Also can you scan a copy of the service receipt?

Road King,

Sorry to hear about your oil smell. I realize how concerning that would be. Keep us posted on the results of your dealer visit. If necessary, I can contact their designated Customer Experience Manager if you have any additional questions. We'll look forward to your updates .

I've noticed an oil smell from day one. Often, after a full stop, the smell wafts in. It's not really a burning smell, just the smell of oil. After I installed the Airaid cai it was more noticeable.

I was hoping to find a full resolution for this but I will not be able to now. I was ran off of the road last night and went into a rather big tree. The tree won. Will post pic after I take some from the tow yard. Good thing is that the car did what it was supposed to do and I am still here. Cops are still looking for the guy.
