A lot of people are not liking the 4th gens, but I absolutely loved my '96 Z28. Got it new and drove it for 15 years. The size and shape fit me perfectly, easy to handle and see out of. Really liked the look of the recessed quad mini headlights.
But I never liked the '98-'02 styling. The front end with those hideous headlights and stupid looking grille were terrible. Least aggressive front end styling on any Camaro IMO. |

4th Gen were the absolute worst. Besides 5th Gen, I really loved the 80-81 Z28:
Beautiful

In order from favorite to least (this list is entirely aesthetic):
-1970-73 2nd gens -2010-2013 5ths -2014-2015 5ths (this is tough. I like the later model front ends, but think the taillights on the older 5th gens look cooler) -First gen -6th gen -everything else -3rd gens

"Generation Yuck" = 4th Gen. (no disrespect to owners, former owners or lovers of Gen. 4).

I may be biased because I owned a 95 V6 Camaro and a 2002 Z/28 Camaro so I like the 4th gen.
I would have to say the second generation was my least favorite of all the body styles.. I don't think any one of the body styles is terrible or ugly though, I just like some more than others, but they are all Camaros and I wouldn't mind owning one of each gen if I ever had the money to do so. |

Been thinking more about this and reading replies since I started it. I used to think gen 1 specifically 1969 was my favorite. Now I'm thinking gen 5. They look great, run and drive so much better. Maintenance is nothing compared to 1st gen and they are safer. I would still like to have a 69 but a resto mod with the LS upgraded suspension and brakes would be sweet

Man that was the stuff. Out of reach back then when working for minimum wage, then by the time I had the money or gotten a loan - they were gone. Chevy/GM hit it exactly right for where people from back then would be able to buy a 5th gen. 18 in 1980 + 30 years = 48 yrs old. Well ok, I bought it in 2011 so technically it was my 50th birthday present.
