Pretty strong statement. Why do you say worthless? Have you used 7.1 yet?

Opinions are fine, just post some reason why you feel that way.

what the hell are 3G and 4G networks anyway? and as far as navigation goes, my brain and a map are my navigation system. This isn't a Prius. This is a Camaro--it's about performance and bold styling, not finding the nearest Starbucks. Onstar can still do that for you. Buy a $79 Garmin and update the software as it becomes available. Getting a car with nav, the unit becomes out-of-date and would actually decrease the value of your car in 5 years or so, unless the in-car nav systems are upgradable.

From my reading is that the LS and 2SS models get "OnStar with one year Directions & Connections plan, including Turn-by-Turn Navigation" The LT and 1SS gets "OnStar with one year Safe and Sound plan, including automatic crash response, stolen vehicle assistance and more"

I know this is an old thread but did anyone notice that when you pair your phone to the Bluetooth that there is an option to pair a GPS? What is that about?

love. my. car.

the absolute WORST part about the onstar navigation system is that if you go off-route, you will be prompted to re-download updated directions. This is distracting and time consuming especially since by the time you go off route, you're already starting to get lost. The system is not worth very much because the car can't update the route itself. Stick with an Android phone GPS... free map updates forever.

This. Maybe it's just because I don't need directions very often, but the Camaro's lack of a navigation system never bothered me when I was deciding which car to buy. I don't understand the point of paying $2,000-$3,000 for an integrated navigation system in a car when I could buy a high-end stand-alone GPS system for less than $500.

I use MotionX and that thing ROCKS. Quick glance and I have all the info I need for the next turn. Plus it will announce directions through the stereo. Sorry guys, I didn't realize this thread was from 2009. My bad. -Funk
