17x10 Weld RT-S at the drag strip
Ok guys, just wanna see who all is running Weld RT-S 17x10's
pt# 71HP-7100N72A I am at stock height. I wanna know did you have any clearance issues with the LCA's on a hard launch at the track. Will I need to notch the control arm? I know lowered cars will need aftermarket control arms so this is just a follow up thread about past issues. Thx Jeff |

I purchase the same wheels a few months ago. I'm car is lower, I called Welds, and the gentleman at Welds told me, whether your car was lower, or not, you had to change your LCA. Call Welds, to confirm, I could be wrong. Enjoy your wheels, I love mind!

I am running these and I am lowered 1". No clearance problems installed but would hit on hard launch so I ground out small area of LCA. Pulled several 1.5 sixty ft's with no clearance issues. It's a shame that wheels that cost this much needs to have work done to work but it only took me about 10 minutes to fix with a small grinder..

I appreciate everybody sharing their experiences. Had several guys pm me so it seems like the consensus is that if you are stock height and are not launching super hard then most likely you will be fine.
If you are launching hard, (low 1.5's 60ft or below) then there is a possibility that you will touch the control arms. So I think I'm just going to modify mine a tad just to have a little extra clearance. |

Love the car btw! You might find a different result once you start launching that puppy hard. That launch in your video was a timid launch which will limit rear squat. It would be sweet to see once you hammer it and they still clear!!

Yours is leaving a little harder so that makes me feel better about whether they could clear. |
