About ready to call it for year
Well it's about that time when some of us tuck the toys away unfortunately. All it takes for me is MoDot throwing down salt and that's that. Doesn't matter if it gets warmer a week later or not. My car will sit until late next spring so the rain washes that crap off the roads. We are flirting with freezing temps already and so I'm anticipating messy salty roads sooner than later. I would really like to get the car out one more time but it is pretty much prepped for storage other than pulling the battery out.
So who else is either done or about done driving their Camaro for the year? |

I figured 2 more weeks. She’s going out this weekend and as far as I can tell the next weekend as temps are back up to the 50’s. We had snow here last weekend but, all melted off with no salt down as of yet. Everyday I can drive just makes for a shorter winter.

Mines been sitting in the 3rd stall for two weeks now. Will take it for my mgw shifter install in a week or two but that is probably about it.

All tucked in. Winter sucks, esp in Michigan.
Still got a half tank of premium, wish there was a way to drain it out - I tried, but can't get even a small diameter tube to fish into the tank. Everyone use Sta-Bill, or fill it up, or what. I don't like the idea of a full tank of 5-6 month old gas. |

I tucked mine away for the winter last week, we had frost earlier this week so I think it was a good call.
For what it's worth hesster, I run the tank as close as I can to empty, then add a bottle of fuel stabilizer and fill the tank right before I store it, I haven't had any fuel related issues and I've been doing it for 8 years. Just my experience.

Mine gets put away...sorta. If the streets are dry and the sun is out.....I'm cruising. Life is too short.

nope i do nothing..just start if for a minute or two every 4 weeks...i think the valve springs sitting for long periods compressed cant be too good.

Always on a battery tender, and jacked up somewhat to take the full load off of the tires. Don't ever fully unload the chassis tires/wheels, as it is not good on the bushings and esp if you have Coil Overs. Newer tires prob don't flat spot, but I make sure of it.

Loving your new avatar. I haven't seen that picture in ages.
I feel for you guys that have to do this every winter. But at the same time you guys get to experience that rush of excitement every spring. Also, the reduced wear and lower miles is a positive. I have noticed a lot of you guys that tend to use the winter for making changes to the car.
