Installation Instructions for Strange Front Coilover # 2063

After a 2 month wait I received the front coilovers. They did not come with install instructions, which seems to be the norm. I've searched online and no one seems to ever get instructions with them. I've found a few videos on youtube that helped, but they were using BC coilovers, and the mounting hardware/spacer/washer is much different.

My stock spring insulators were toasted, so I ordered a new pair and those arrived, but I still dont know the re-assembly order.

I know I need to re-use the stock insulator, bushing and mount, but I'm not sure if the first retaining washer/nut should be used, or if the weight of the car holds it in place until the top washer/nut is attached.

Has anyone else installed these recently? I'd love to see a pic of the assembly before its re-installed, and/or the correct order starting from the top of the spring up.

Thanks

I got it figured out thanks to a local guy (fifthgenpower) who sent me some pics of his. My spring insulators were shot so i ordered replacememts. Unlike the rear coilovers the front need a spanner wrench to adjust the ride height. Picked one up locally. Should have it wrapped up tomorrow.

What a huge difference! I finally have traction again! The front end lifts as boost ramps in and keeps the rear tires planted. Money well spent!

Made more of a difference than switching from 18s to 15s.

Did you have to play much with the adjustment. If so was it simple to dial in? I’m sure you’re one happy guy, nothing better than when things come together.

I haven't touched the adjustment knobs yet and its already made a huge improvement. I think the car will settle a little after some miles, so I may need to adjust he ride height some, so i want to get that worked out before i start messing with the compression/rebound.

I sent an email to strange to see what they recommend, but I have a feeling it all depends on your setup, trans type, tire type, if you are hooking or spinning, if you are on prep or no prep, asphalt or concrete. I think I'm on my own.

With a proper alignment and the new slicks I bought, I hope to hook in second on the street. Of course, once I get that all figured out, I will have to start over for racing at the track, lol. Different ball game when you have traction.

Update

Finally got time for an alignment. The tech was cool and worked with me to get as close to 0 as possible, with maybe a touch of positive camber in the rear.

I've got the car where I can keep traction in 3rd gear with about 90% throttle above 5500rpms, but at 100% I can feel it spin. Definitely needs more fine tuning.

Does anyone else have this suspension? I'd love to hear how others have things setup. Anti-roll bar and compression/rebound settings, ect.

Need to learn suspension theory. Should I start adjusting things looser or tighter?

(also sent the G4-95 out to ESS to have their latest impeller installed)
