Weird spot after polishing

Hello guys, so today i finally decided to fix a scratch that i had. I tried wet sanding with 1500 grit and worked my way up to 3000 to get most of the scratch out, but the scratch was way too deep probably down to the primer so i stopped sanding and just started polishing. When i finished i saw this weird spot and after trying to polishing out, it still wouldn't come out.

Do ya have any suggestions on what i can do?

Hard to tell from those pics but my guess is either you didn't polish the sand scratches out all the way so there is still a haze, or you burnt through the clear. Hard to say exactly what it is though unless you can get better pictures of that spot.

I'll try to post a clearer picture, it's just that the spot is very small and when I get close to take a picture of it, it becomes very distorted.

Judging by that last pic, I'm going with damage to the clear coat. And you are probably not going to do anything with that sractch. Looks like it's through the paint as well.

If it were me, I'd try using Dr. Colorchip (or similar).

Is there any way to fix the clear coat? And I have the lanka system so I'll try that out just to fill in the scratch.

When I used Dr. Colorchip, it seems to have the clearcoat mixed in. After using it, I couldn't even tell where the scratch was - the gloss blended in perfectly with the neighboring areas

Look to me like you went through the clearcoat, man. And if that's the case, then the UV protection offered by the clearcoat in that area has been compromised and that damage will begin to spread. The panel will need to be repainted. On the bright side, that will also take care of the scratch.

Looks like it also might be dried on polish residue that has been baked onto the finish. Try wetying it with some QD and then hit it with the polisher again at medium speed.

Thank you so much for your input, I'll ask around to get a quote because now I'm noticing chips all over my rear quarter panel lol.

Yup. Through the clear and have polish embedded in the scratch. Paint time for the burn, through. Sorry OP.

Agree with this based on the past pic, if it were caked on polish/compound you'd be able to wipe it off with a little pressure on a microfiber. If it doesn't wipe off though then you started to burn through the clear which will need repainting.

On the bright side like someone else said, when you get it repainted they will be able to repair the scratch at the same time so it will at least end up fixed, it'll just cost you a little more.
