Ready to buy lowering springs. Not sure how low to go.

I'm about to bite the bullet and purchase some springs. But having trouble deciding on how low to go.

After some reading, I've decided on either a 1" drop all the way around or 1.4" up front and 1.25 in the rear. I'm leaning more towards the second choice.

Right now I have the factory SS/RS wheels. But plan on upgrading to Z/28 replicas. 20x10 in the front and 20x11 in the rear. And don't want to run into rubbing issues later.

Would be interested in seeing side shots of either setup on an SS with factory wheels.

There really should be a "sticky" here where people can post side shots of their cars along with brand of springs or coilovers and the amount lowered.

Thank you....

I’m on the same boat, however, I already decided I won’t go lower than 1”. The lower you go, the more careful you have to be during city driving. Plus I’m getting the Mishimoto oil cooler, so I have to be extra careful already!

My sig shows my car with BMR 1.25" all around. I sorta want to go to BMR 1.4" up front but I'm already scraping my high flow cats on my long tubes on speed bumps.

No more then 1-1-1/4”. You can get axel issues any lower then that possibly. And any speedbumps will scrape on

I had the 1.4 FR and 1.25 RR set up from BMR and had the same wheels on my 2010. I raced on the strip street and road course and NEVER had rubbing issues.parking lots and speed bumps were a little harder to get into but that'll happen with any lower you go. Just keep in mind, the lower you go, the more the axle angle is changed, which can weaken them quicker

Thank you everyone for your input. I just placed an order for BMR 1.4" Front and 1.25" Rear springs along with some Koni shocks/struts.

I have 95,000 miles on my Camaro, would you guys recommend new upper strut mounts or should my current ones be fine?

Awesome. I can't wait for mine to arrive. Looking forward to son father/son time doing the install with my son. Will be doing a BMR strut tower bar at the same time. I have an early 2011, so no predrilled holes.

I own a 9,000 lbs. lift and a a small shop so I'm hoping it goes pretty quick.

Also my new vehicle has a lot more power than my last car (about 150hp at the wheels) so I'm praying for no axle issues
