584 WHP 657 WTQ / now comes the Heads/Cam
Well my first winter with the car under a cover proved to be too much idle time for my mind so we went ahead and pulled the trigger on round 2 for the mods. JDP will be swapping out the heads and cam as well as addressing fuel needs and AFM deletion. I'm very curious to see what happens to compression and boost with these mods. We're at 10 lbs and stock compression so I wouldn't mind those numbers being a tad lower. We're adding HP Tuners nGauge and a wideband gauge to complete the data collection process as well.
Thanks for all the insight, my fellow forum friends. I'll keep you posted.

I shouldn't have to leave you in suspense as long as the Supercharger portion of the build did. Goes in Feb sometime and I'm hoping for 1-2 weeks.

Why is your compression going to change?

Wishful thinking that head work could lower it if only slightly....

Only if the chambers are enlarged, and it wouldn't be much. It'll likely stay the same. I will be doing the "drop in" forged pistons and cam swap first. Then FI later. Fueling issues are my main concern.

I don't blame you. Were addressing fuel for sure. We'll be using the LT4 high pressure pump and injectors.

Your cam will effectively lower your compression as well. If your SCR stays the same your DCR could change as much as .5 depending on the size of your cam. It is all dictated by the closing point of your intake valve. But with VVT it is always moving. Better flowing heads will also lower your boost which will put less stress on your motor. You will have to pulley way down after your H/C to get back to 10lbs of boost.

Dropped off my baby today. The anticipation is killing me and I haven't I even made it a day yet. I'm really looking forward to the end result after having seen the gameplan, otherwise known as a parts list. It was nice to see a bunch of late model GMs.
I'll keep this thread updated as we go along. Stay tuned!

Better start saving for some wider wheels and tires if you don't already have them lol. I saw meth injection in your description. This car should easily exceed 700.

I've got 315 Contis in back now but we're gonna yank them and put ET Streets on. They'll be 305/35/20. I'm worried they still won't hook though because of the sidewall. I'll let you know how good/bad they are. I'll have a similar set-up to you when I get it back. We are gonna try the stock injectors with all the other LT4 stuff. Jordan has made 780 Wheel on a 416 build with the same fuel set-up so we'll see what happens.
