The only thing i can put up there is the weight. IDK what kind of camwork he had done but it must have made a big difference. Sorry, sometimes you will lose. I'm yet to race the wrong guy, but eventually I will.

You know if you had a realllly big spoiler, your rear tires would have gripped the ground much better and you definitely would have flew right by him.
Seriously though, just because they look "riced out" doesn't mean they couldn't of had some serious engine work done. |

Even if he had cam work he's still not going to be making anything significant in that Camry engine. Yeah. Don't know because I've raced Scion TC's with the TRD Supercharger, and I've beat them in my stock Cobalt SS Supercharged.

No way you will add a NOS sticker and only get ten HP out of it.

i would say to pull one of their crappy excuses like "he was on juice" or "i missed third" (yes i know you're in an auto!) but if you do, then you're just stooping to their level. my friend has an 08 tc & it's pretty quick! i was almost impressed

i lost to a ford escape a couple months ago. i know... it's embarrassing, but you gotta remember - no matter how fast your car is, there's always gonna be somebody faster (the car you drive does, however, vary the degree of truth to this statement)

TC's are neat little cars and they have an AMAZING torque curve...more like a line. Don't sleep on them, I've seen one on the dyno and remember being thoroughly impressed (though I don't remember the numbers).

the power curves for both the vehicles are completely different. the fact that your opponent has a pretty flat power curve thru-out the power band allows the car to not have to rev the piss out to get accessible power. now, one other thing to ask. he was N/A right? reason I ask is that I've got a friend at work who has a s/c on his scion and you can barely hear it and probably wouldnt know that he had it unless you looked under the hood.

Oh now I remember where I saw one. When I was still doing production work, I did a demo for a local shop.
Unfortunately I never got past the demo, and it's in a very large format, but if you have time to kill and must see a Scion on the dyno: http://www.merfproductions.com/vids/dynoday.wmv to stream the video... OR http://www.merfproductions.com/2.html and right-click and save-as on the Brauning Motorsports link at the bottom. 45MB or so. |
