yes but probably long enough to build as much heat as the top of the dashboard sees. that is why you see alot more cracked dashboards than you do door panels..
the next time the sun is shining feel the top of the dash and then the side of the doorpanel, I bet you will feel alot of difference..

It would be nice to have an option to remove the ABL from the doors from a 2SS.

When the lights stop at the dash...seems like that will be weird...like the fuse was blown for the dash ABL lights.

I would like a leather trim piece in there!

Somehow I'm willing to be patient. Fbodfather wouldn't let them put something in that looked half-assed. Like he said, right, or not at all.

If I hate it, I'll buy 1SS door panels and that'll be the end of it.

Find the fuse for the ABL and pull it or just unplug them.. I bet there will be a connector somewhere.. or maybe they will be programable and you can chose to turn them off.. we just need to wait and see and don't jump to conclusions.

Thanks again Scotty! I am excited since I was hoping for this result for 2 reasons - first when driving at night the only lights inside the car I want to see are the gauges and dic, so I think having across the dash would bug me a little sometimes. Second if they are on the doors it should be more visible since they are more protected from the windows. I think the development team made another great choice! (Assuming it is reliable!)

I'm glad to know that I won't have to read another thread that goes something like, "OMG I WANT TO KNOW IF ABL WILL BE ONLY ON THE DOORS OR NOT!!!111one!!!one!!!!11"

Annoying as hell.

If anyone cancels their order over a string of pretty lights inside the car, then they really need to get their priorities in order.
Just wondering, who was making you read these "annoying threads" cheif?

To me, this is just another disappointment in an ever growing list. This in and of itself is not a deal breaker, I will wait to see what it looks like. However, I am reaching a point where I feel I might be better off waiting till 2010. By then they should have this and a number of other things sorted out. Who knows, maybe even an LS7 version might be available or some other 500hp+ variant.

Well, I guess I will be one of the few guys here who aren't so annoyed about this news. Fact is I thought it was quite a cool feature, but wondered how this kind of ambient lighting could impact your driving experience and other safety issues.
I mean, I have always been told that too much lighting in the car at night isn't good because your eyes can't focus as well.
I wear glasses and love driving at night, and believe me : I know that this kind of details sure make your eyes tired.
So, one of the questions I've always wanted to ask about it was the possibility of fading this ambient lighting in or out, making it more discreet or even switching it off if needed.
Now, with the dashboard not beeing lighten, I feel quiet reassured about it anyway. If this switching off is not possible, it's still ok by me.

Another question would be : what lighting color for beige interior ? Is it the one they call "neutral" ? Beige with blue... Quite a weird combination, isn't it ?

And again, sorry for my crappy english

Unless you have the IOM interior pkg, the light is always blue; orange with the package.

I bet that anyone that sees the ABL that didn't know it existed on the Camaro is going to be very impressed with it. the people on here that have lusted for it for the last 2 years are the only ones that are going to be dissapointed...

I have another theory too...what are the legalities regarding lights on your dash? Did GM get overzealous and forget to check whether it is even legal to have a light up dashboard????
CTS has lighting on the dash. Light pipe across the I/P and through the doors.
