Cold Air Intake and Grille

Hey everyone! My camaro will be arriving mid to late October and I'm starting to look at some mods I could do.

Specifically I would like a different grille and cold air intake. Whatever mods I do, I want to try and use GM performance parts. That being said, from what my understanding is, GM hasn't officially released the cold air intake and the different grills.

Does anyone know what GM plans on doing this?

Thanks for any help!

-Sal

Don't think its been announced yet man. I would really look somewhere else for the CAI if I were you. Probably the exhaust too. From what I've seen and read you're not going to really get any performance with the GMPP parts.

I don't think the GMPP CAI is gonna do much. Going from one closed box to another (albeit chrome) closed box probably won't do a whole lot. Check out Airaid see if you like that, or you can do like me and just sit tight until some options come out.

Thanks guys you two. My only worry about getting an aftermarket air intake has to do with the powertrain warranty...doesn't an aftermarket CAI void the warranty? That's the main reason I was looking at GMPP.

Thanks for the inputs!

A CAI shouldn't void your warranty unless you have an issue directly related to your intake. GM has been pretty liberal about bolt ons in the past, but make sure you have a good relationship with your dealer before you start putzing around. My local dealer has said they'd honor the warranty on any bolt on they install, but they've seen backyard mechanics mess things up. My Dodge dealership even honors my engine warranty when I have an Edge tuner on it because I bought it from them. I don't think the Dodge dealer is special- I think a Chevy dealer would do the same thing if I talked to them first.
