2010 camaro SS Vs 2013 Mustang 5.0
I got a friend that has a 2013 5.0 with Mt Et street radials, boss intake manifold, tune, cai and 4.10 gears, and claims that he can beat my camaro with cai, shorty headers, (cat delete) Pipes, x-pipe, and no tune.
we went to the track and beat me by a car and a half. will getting Drag radials on my camaro, stand a better chance in taking on the mustang? will a custom tune help also? |

I'm surprised he didn't beat you by more??? Your car is pretty much stock.
Drag radial will definitely help you, but you need LT's and a tune

Drag radials and a tune will help you but its still not going to be enough. Honestly you need LT headers, tune, 3.91 gears, 18inch drag radials and maybe even a cam. Your friends setup has gone mid 11's with the right tune, DA and driver. Good luck with that one.

His tires are the main reason why he beat you. If you had drag radials yourself, the race would be much closer. A tune would be nice for you too.

I'm surprised it wasn't more of a win for the GT as well. A car and a half with him on tires and his mods vs. your Camaro is not much of a victory. What were your times? Can you post a breakdown of the slip or the slip itself? Maybe the GT had a worse reaction time.

Tune your car and get slicks and he'll still beat you 6 out of 10 runs my guess.

check out the vid i posted, i think were putting the same power imo.. if anything he has like 20 more hp? idk. we did roll runs off the track and would get me by a car and a half.. so idk? i was dynoed before the shortys and offroad pipes, at 400whp..

my tires though are almost finished .got like 4/32 tread left, i think thats the reason i cant hook.. if i dont ease on the throttle at full speed i go to redline and the tires spin! its harder to launch.. before the shortys and cat deletes it was easier to launch. idk if the tires are not up to the task no more or i need to practice! lol |

First off....this is not at the track, and I'd say this thread will be locked in about 5 minutes.
2nd...I really couldn't see much at all from that vid. Last...not sure how fast you guys actually went but you said you missed third, and still kept up with him....and so do you really think his car was performing even remotely to its potential? Very doubtful.
