Can someone out there do me a favor??
So we all know the High Pressure Fuel Pump's ticking sound can be fairly loud in these cars. Today I noticed that if I take the throttle up to about 1,000 rpm the ticking becomes very rapid. I have a feeling this is normal, but if anyone else out there knows for sure, or if you'd be kind enough to pop your hood, and listen to your engine I'd appreciate it. Here is a video. You can really hear what I'm talking about the 2nd time I raise the revs from idle:

I cannot hear the ticking speeding up in that video. However does it speed up a bit when you rev the rpms up and then take your foot off immediately? That's what mine does.

Not exactly. If I hold the rpms at a steady 1,000 rpm, the rapid ticking will stay constant. Again, it may be normal, but I just don't remember it standing out from before. I try my best to be "in tune" with my car, but I don't remember if it has always done this or not. Yeah it can be difficult to hear in the video, but I feel the 2nd time I raise the rpms up, it seems pretty apparent. Probably harder if you don't know exactly what your looking for. Its right from the 14 to 16 second mark.

If you were to give it a try on your own car...you'd hear it for sure...assuming it is normal lol.
