Tonsillectomy

I'm unhappy, but you gotta do what you gotta do right?

I've had tonsil stones, enflamed tonsils, and good pain since the superbowl. 4 rounds of antibiotics have all failed, so my doc said it's best I just get them completely removed at this point

If you've had them done, how was the recovery for you? I've ready plenty of horror stories about how bad it is..then I've heard one or two testimonies in a blue moon that say the pain was tolerable.

I had them done as an adult. Dr wasn't lying when he said it would hurt like hell. Worse as a adult. Anyway when i woke up in recovery, I was like, wow going to be a long month. In the end, it all worked out. Never realized how much you involuntarily swallow throughout the day. Its a painful event. Good luck.

My mother had this done right before this past Christmas. She said it was about as bad as a really awful case of strep-throat. Not just a really bad case, but a case so bad that you lose ten pounds in a week from not eating. When the scar tissue starts to scab up you have to be careful because they'll have trouble healing if you keep knocking the scabs off while eating. Though that shouldn't be an issue because you probably won't have the ability to swallow anything softer than pudding for a week. But once you get the bad over with you'll never have to worry about any of the other issues you've had again. Just do it and be done with it for good. Best of luck to you.
