I have a Valentine 1 and it works very well, but wanted something with a little more stealth and permanently mounted in the Camaro. So, I went with the Passport Qi45. It also works very well. It saved me about four times on the trip to Camaro5 fest.

Take it to a local 1/4 mile track. It helps with the itch

V1, I'm 7 for 7 on tickets. Mind you I'm not a throttle heavy 16 year old with a need to impress his varsity cheerleader girlfriend (ok ok she was junior varsity). I go with traffic, usually hang out in the middle lane which can vary from 5 over the speed limit to 20 over depending what part of road your on. If the cop sees two cars speeding, he's going to pull over the camaro. The RD is a saftey net, invest $400 now and save what could be 3 or 400 in tickets plus what your insurance goes up by.

IMO of course

I'm married to a police LT radar detectors are worthless around here because cops dont keep the guns on- They turn them on when they see a speeding car- clock it and then turn it off again- so by time your radar detector detects them............they've already got you.

^^ What she said.

Just don't come up here to Alberta. Radar detectors are useless, and radar jammers are illegal (for good reason, plenty of small airports around here!). Besides, no one up here uses radar anymore to monitor speed.

That's not true at all. My Escort always catches the pulses on other cars 2 miles ahead and I have yet to ever be caught. If you are driving alone at 4:00AM on a country road the I'd say sure it could happen. But if there is any other traffic out there you will get the pulse warnings way ahead of time. You really have to know your detector and experience over time will help you judge when you can speed and when you cant.

I have the Cobra xrs r9g. It has been excellent. The problem is Lidar/Laser. The Cobra as well as many others will detect Lidar but when it does it's too late, you've been bagged.

I have it also and it has already paid for itself. Much better than Valentine. Valentine had way too many false alarms.
