I see the whole musclecar war thing being a good thing for those of us who love cars. I dont care if its a Ford, Chevy, or whatever brand because the end result is good for everybody. GT500 set the bar nice and high so then everybody had to work hard to catch it. Sure I am a GM guy mostly, but one of my best friends has a GT500 and that car rocks! Of course its modded and makes closer to 700HP so that helps!

Sorry to disagree with you. Unless you are putting your Shelby in a museum it will be upgraded by the owner as are most Muscle Cars. Take a wild guess what vehicle leaves the dealer with the highest dollar amount of modifications? I am talking about modifications prior to delivery of a brand new car. Take a guess.

The, "what should I mod first" post is just rediculously hilarious. To say you wont mod a car is just a matter of opinion on the individual not a fact.

You know what else isn't a fact? EVERYTHING IN THIS THREAD

We have no numbers from either car, and the annoying Mustang trolls are coming in here saying it's the best thing since sliced bread? Really? I'm still scratching my head at half the comments in this thread. Guess what car the people who make the head-scratching comments have in their avatar.

I go even further in saying I love a lot of import cars, but before people start chunking empty beer cans at me, Im glad most of the newer cars I like all hail from USofA (+Canada)

I was really excited about the new Challenger when they came out, but was disappointed by how much they and dealers were trying to charge for them. I'm a Mopar fan as much of a GM one, but as of late I have a lot of respect for Mustang; Ford as a whole actually.

But at the end of this round Chevy won my money, and I guess thats what speaks loudest of all for us.

Im happy with my purchase.

But if someone wants to put a new GT500 in my driveway...

i dont see why all the fuss. the 620hp GT500 news really is only good news for future GT500 owners......or for 2018 ZL1 owners for when finally GM decides to respond

I'd take one! Then sell it for a 5th Gen, lol. I appreciate many imports, too, but I bleed Chevy Red.

I just laugh at all these people worried about horsepower, I mean having a bunch of horsepower gets old real quick and then you realize you don't use the car for that reason more then 20% of the time. So I laughed at everyone worried about having the most because from my experience and having plently high horsepower cars it comes to a point when you stop caring about modding and having all that and just want to enjoy a car instead of always trying to measure your ego.

I've to this day haven't done any performance mods to my Camaro and don't plan on it, got a 05 GTO with over 900 ponies and it rarley even see's the strip anymore because of the need and feeling is just gone.

So in short let's get over which car is gonna be the fastest and let's just enjoy what you brought. Simple as that, if you can't do that then you will never understand what enjoying life is about.
