A day racing: Panamera, GT500, TT Z06, and me (videos)
Here we are at the track today (Steele, AL - 84*F). A very interesting 2011 Porsche Panamera running 11's vs. a Twin-Turbo Z06 on street tires, and another race against my friend's modded GT500. Oh, and a video of me on my new drag rims.
Enjoy! Padre |

If you're going to back into the water (I will assume you're on a full slick) then don;t you think it would be better if you did an actual burnout to heat up the tires and get rid of the water? Maybe I just missed it. In any case, thanks for the vids.

Gotcha. In that case, drive around the water all together. Do a nice burnout to clean the tires of and go.

Sorry, I was not trying to be an ass. Based on the video, you backed into the water instead of driving around it and then doing a quick burnout. I figured you knew how to do a burnout, but what actions should and should not take place prior to doing a burnout is not always common knowledge.
Not directed at Padre but for anyone else reading the thread: Street Radials=Drive around the water; quick spin to clean the tires off. Do not do a burnout, as it will actually hurt your traction. Drag Radials=Drive around the water; good burnout to clean/heat the tires Slicks=Back into the water, pull forward heat tires with full burnout |

When using drag radials.
Myself and all the guys I know go around the water box to keep water off the front street tires. Then we back into the water box to get the rear tires wet. Then we pull forward a few feet to get out of the water. Hold the car stationary (front brake) and do a nice burnout. Pull forward and stage. And Padre's probably got a stack of time slips 10 feet tall. He got a ton of drag racing experience. |

But I mean, come on, I could have edited it out. I don't mind posting videos of spectacular failures either. Padre |
