Well I would have to give about half of the time on that beat to the driver. The ZL1 was out for a cruise, the LPE L/28 beast was there to win. Although he did lose .5 of a second with the drifting exhibition.
Who was driving for LPE? Looks like you have the L28 just about dialed in. It will only get faster from here, on the road course where it can stretch its legs......WATCH OUT!

I will bet it is!
It is an amazing car, with the better weight dist., all that power, and all of Pete's best Pedders goodies. I think it will be chased by most track prepped cars including the Vettes on the Optima tour.
I can't wait to see how it does on the road courses! Pete get us video!

Ryan
I here a lot of good things about Danny, in fact was'nt he at the optima challenge in Vegas? I think he was driving the Vette that was running away from the chase car. I can't wait to hear how he and the car do.
Please keep us informed!

Danny WON the Optima challenge last year..

My car is back among the living!
I snuck off to the track Friday night for a couple of passes. Track was in rough shape with all of the street tires making a mess of it. They did a 70' prep for us on one lane and got decent shake out.
Although a year off without so much as even driving a standard tranny takes it toll. On the prepped run I bounced off the rev limiter in first gear.
Only managed a 11.5, but I was'nt pushing very hard. The car feels great. I hope to hit the strip again this next Friday. Maybe I can get my mojo back and push a little to get into the 10's.

On another note, had a great visit with the track owner. He gave me the low down on what the uphill elevation has for a time correction....3/10's to compensate for the 17' of elevation. So I feel a little better with my progress so far.
Also had a few guys tell me that about every car is .5 seconds faster in Albuquerque vs. here in El Paso. So I guess I need to head up north to visit 2010 and RS to get down some good times.

Glad to hear you are running again Mike!

You would LOVE my home track then... 500' above sea level. Concrete the whole 1320', it was poured 6 months ago - some new kind of laser leveling so the surface is perfectly level.

Running at night, when it's cool out after a day like today (mid-high 80's) and the track keeps the heat in, the DA will fall to -1200 BELOW sea level... or lower. Air temp will be high 50's to low 60's and makes for some absolutely amazing times at night. It doesn't get any better..

New England Dragway just inked a deal with the NHRA to host a major event in June 2013. I live 15 miles from the track..

Maybe I need to get back into Drag racing...

It is hard to keep up with Mike and Dan. I didn't drive today, but the L/28 did. They are closing the flight door so I'll post details later.

Great job! Glad the car is alive and that you are finally getting to run it again!!! You're welcome to Albuquerque anytime, and can stay at the shack if you want. Just get your practice in down there, cuz you might only get one run in here without a roll cage!

Road America OPTIMA Challenge L/28 Autocross

Notes
1. I used the shake reduction on YouTube and it doesn't work with in car video and data. It is reprocessing and should be better shortly.
2. The RPMs are doubled in the video. My bad on the video gauge set up.

We only have a baby LPE engine with 590 to the rear wheels I think that means the L/28 has the least RWHP in this thread

If you get to run at mosport, please make sure you get video!
