on a side note..check out the music on the G8 website....the camaro website needed that instead of what it got! Kicks ass whoever it is!

that is true i don't see them getting rid of the ls2... it's like they had the ls1/6 around when the ls2/7 were out now i think it'll be more like the ls3/9 with the ls2/7... also are they switching to letters instead of numbers b/c the new 09 or 10 cts type v is getting a LSA??

I don't think I've welcomed you to the site, yet....Welcome!!

That's a +8 month old quote...the LS2 isn't in the G8; its engine is named the L76. The LS2 is pretty much dead already, so no LS2 in the Camaro.

As for the LSA...it's really just another designation. I don't think anyone knows why they called any of them what they did.

LS2 is dead, except to LS2 owners.

as far as calling it the LSA, its just a variant of the LS9. they use the diff naming structure for diff sub companies. LS9-Chevy, LSA-Caddy, the LSA has a smaller s/c and a few other minor differences but is basically the same motor. just like the LS2-LS7 are the same block, the LS1-LS6 are the same block setup, and the LS3-LS9 is the same block, just throw a s/c on it and call it a day.

side note, there are other differences not listed between the motors, such as the LS1-6 are of the Gen III family, while the LS2,3,4,7,9,A,X motors are all Gen IV.

now if you really want a big motor for the new camaro, go with the LSX 511cubes.
