Just to give some LEO advice here, radar units will only give you a warning that we have pinged you and already have you locked. 1/3 of my stops are with people that have a radar units and they get upset because they think its going to give some kind of "cop ahead" warning. Best advice is to save your money and just keep an eye on your speed, advice I need to heed myself in my new beast.

I don't get bothered by the police. I figure they really target older vehicles around were I live. I mean you can't really be a crackhead and have one of these cars, or can you?

My first ticket was about two weeks ago after 6 months of good behavior (or as good as it possibly could be with an SS) and I already had a radar detector similar situation though passing slower traffic in the left hand lane. Unfortunately the LEO was using laser so my passport 8500 was really just another set of flashing lights and sirens letting me know I was getting a ticket.

Yup…radar detectors are a giant waist of money. Seriously. I’m surprised people still get suckered into buying them after instant-on radar made them useless. Also, good luck getting a verbal warning with a radar detector on your windshield.

Most of my tickets are issued via pacing (we don need no steenking radar). I can roll the hiway in a fully marked car, and people are so oblivious of whats going on around them that I can pull up right beside them and they dont notice till I light em up.
Its like shooting fish in a barrel.
But, I will also say that I'm not big on enforcing traffic. I find it hard to cite people for doing the same things I do.
Its only the ones that are just out n out doing stupid shit that I pull over.

Agree, to a point. I wouldn't spend big $ on one, if it saves you one time when the officer isn't using laser, then I guess it was worth it. BUT you are right, now with laser and instant on chances are you are toast.
I love asking people if their detector went off when I hit them with the laser....its about 95 % NO.
I base my ticket off the speed, if I was just going to give them a warning I normally don't change my mind if they have a detector.... sometimes making them feel bad that their detector didn't save them is punishment enough maybe they will think twice about going that far over the limit.

I had not received a ticket in six years. Owning the SS for three days, and I was "caught" going 78 in a 60. Yeah, you can get up in the MPH without even feeling it.

Speed of light is faster than a brake application.
He was in traffic so if radar was used there would be ample warning. Laser is line of sight so you can usually see lots of brake lights or the officer. In either case if you are alone you are screwed.

And nobody start bashing LEO's. I just got a warning for doing that.
