Tune worthwhile?

Question... I am scheduled to get a basic tune for my 2011 camaro SS with Speed Inc. this coming Monday. Is this a worthwhile purchase? They mentioned that the tune will reduce the DoD by about 80% and also reduce the torque management. Thoughts or comments?

Don't expect much in the way of HP from just a tune, with no other mods. The tranny tune is well worth it, if done right. What do they mean by reducing DOD by 80%? Most just tune it out completely. Unless you're doing a lot of highway miles, it really doesn't save you much. They may be talking about what I did, after switching gears. Mine is only active in 6th and only above 65 or 70mph, I forget the actual number. I only did that because I was driving to Baytown for the fest the next day and it was 99% highway miles.

He said the dod was not possible to tune out 100%. I'm hoping to see some change off the line with the torque management tweak. I guess we'll see because all I have is a CAI.

So the tune is done. I like it. Very noticeable reduction in sluggishness and it shifts harder now. This really seemed to wake it up.

On average we drop 5 tenths off any LSX vehicle that uses the 6L80 transmission. There's a TON to be gained in transmission tuning alone, and about 15-20rwhp in other areas just on a bone stock car. This is assuming you use 93 octane of course.

Yes, a tune is very much worth it on these cars even in bone stock form.
