i dont think this is a worthless thread at all. I think the note is a very important part to the "feeling" of a car.

Perhaps the video recorder did not do a good job of picking up the exhaust sounds, but I was not overjoyed with the exhaust note on the Ring video. And perhaps the production version will sound different/better anyway, I'll just have to wait and see.

Shoot. I thought the sound of the Camaro at the ring was very impressive. That's what I want MY Camaro to sound like.

Something to keep in mind -- cannot go over 80 db in the noise drive-by test........and it isn't always the exhaust -- it can be tire treads that make too much noise........

The Camaro exhaust note heard in the Nürburgring video sounds a lot like a Corvette (i.e. good to my ears). If you want a bit more bite in your bark, there are always aftermarket solutions that will net you a little more hp to boot.

On my 89 Mustang and on my last truck, the 2000, I run straight pipes from the cat converters back an it gave both a nice rumble without the mufflers.

And given cost constraints I would imagine you won't be using any kind of "active" system either. A shame - I guess going after-market will be popular by many (including me.. I did with the Monaro!).

For me and I mean just me. What I heard in the clips up until now to me sounds sloppy. That's just me. But I will be going for after market and I have always thought about that since I knew the camaro was coming out. I what my camaro to sound MEAN! Not loud and sloppy.

P.S. The camaro at Idle does sound nice as long as you dont mash the gas three or four times in a row. ( that is when it sounds sloppy. )

I, too, thought it sounded a little like a 'Vette; more-so than a 4th. Gen. for sure.
I've always planned on the aftermarket for more bite anyways, so I'm not concerned how it sounds stock. Admittedly - I think it sounds pretty good around the ring though. Good job
