and im pretty excited for it. im sure leaving it in true auto will improve performance and mpg, but every once in a while i think it will be fun.

and as for down shifting during braking, that is only for SS models in the Competition mode for stability control.
Can you disable the stabillitrak on the automatic or is it always on?

That answers nothing about disabling stabilitrak, or anything about stabilitrak at all for that matter. Anyone know if you can turn it off in the V6 car, auto or manual?

V6's have 3 settings: traction control and stabilitrak on, traction control off but stabilitrak on (lets you burn some rubber but not lose sideways control, as I understand it), and both traction control & stabilitrak off. V8's have the additional option of "competitive mode," which adjusts the stabilitrak to allow a little more sideways motion.

Nice info I didn't know about that 50/50 mode.

Does anyone know if the ASR component (traction control) does the pedal pushbacks like the vette?

Just out of curiousity. If you have an automatic and you are driving it using the paddle shifters, does the DIC tell you when you can shift (up or down) to the next gear? I know that it denies you a shift in certain situations but it would be nice if it had some sort of indicator to alert you as soon as you are allowed to shift.

I love this feature. As far as when to shift, I usually shift when it hits 2500 - 3500 rpm's depending on how fast I am wanting to get up the speed. Good for a change of pace.
