Reddish/Pink oil leaking around my oil filter and cooler area

Can anyone please ID what this fluid is and where it's likely coming from?

I've got a 2010 LS3. It's been sitting in the garage since mid-Oct and I've started it once.

You can see where it's wetted the oil pan and tranny housing. There's also some drips on the small, black cross member.

Thanks...

It looks like transmission fluid to me. Check the gasket around the pan.

I'd agree with this, I see a drip on your oil cooler lines so I'd think ther leak wouldn't be the pan gasket but higher, check all cooling lines and fittings

I've got the LS3 manual 6 speed, so I didn't think it has a transmission pan. If it is the transmission, then where is the reservoir for the tranny oil? I know it shares the same fluid as the brake, but the brake fluid is clear.

Your manual 6 speed trans has a oil cooler that is built into the radiator.
Check the lines for tightness all the way from the trans to the front, that is what is leaking.

Your Transmission is sealed. The access is on the top of the tranny for fluid change(adding). Only the clutch shares the brake fluid reservoir.

D'oh, the clutch shares the brake fluid reservoir, thanks.

Where's the tranny fluid access point?

There are 2 plugs on the side of the transmission. I believe both of them are on the driver's side. One plug is the "fill" and the other is the "drain". The bottom plug is the drain. You have to jack the car up to get good access to these plugs.

Honestly, I think you have a leak around your oil cooler. The cooler is next to the oil filter and it uses coolant from the radiator. Check the cooling lines for leaks and the cooler itself. I believe there is a TSB on a leaking oil cooler anyways.

Thanks! I'll check with the dealer on the TSB. Anyone have the TSB number handy?

On a side note, are those magnets meant to capture shavings? Does it work?

Yes, they are. Don't know yet since I only installed them last year. Will report when I do an oil change next year.
