1LE Front Spoiler Fragile?

I have 2,200 miles and four track days on the 1LE so far. On the third track day, I took either a rock or a tire marble to the front spoiler and it punched a hole several inches wide.

Question - Has this happened to anyone else? Are the spoilers that fragile or did I just have bad luck?

They aren't cheap at $500 either.

I have a few rock chips on mine but wow, that’s one nasty hole. At this point I’d probably just go with a different front splitter from phastek.

Yea they are really flimsy, I'm considering the RPI replica GM splitter for a replacement. It's the exact same design but made of fiberglass, as long as their Satin black is a match for the stock splitter I will be getting it. And it's half the price of an OEM replacement.

This looks pretty good and the price is certainly better. Thanks.

How wide is the hole? It's a track car isn't it? Throw some black patch material over it and call it a day.

I put a hole in the splitter just like yours on one of my off track excursions at MSR Cresson. No curb or anything just something in the grass / dirt it didnt like.. its definitely very fragile. I have a duct tape bandage over it right now lol

I'm on my second splitter too, but it's so thin I am worried about it breaking again, I may look into that fiberglass one

Gorilla tape is black and probably stronger than the splitter.

How easy is it to swap out?

Might make sense to have a track/road splitter and keep a good one for shows/cars and coffee.

Mine got shattered, so I ordered the C7 carbon fiber ZL1 style splitter and side skirts to match. The factory splitter is a POS

Not easy - like 16 rivets.

Very easy to drill out the rivets and put in strong push poppers, I’ve done it to mine.....then it would be easy to swap them out.....

Really? That is a good idea if it is strong enough. I sure as heck don't want the splitter coming off on track at 140 mph.

Which push connectors did you use? Link?

Some track guy will come along here and say “I wouldn’t do that at all”… So you have to make your own decision…

If you’re worried, you could do some with bolts/Nylock s and some with push poppers, I’ve been 100 miles an hour in mine but not to the track. I just used 3/8 inch push pops from Lowe’s ...just go over to Lowe’s and look at the options available...
