My SS has pink eye

Bare-ass'd or doesn't work.

If you can get the light on the other side to do that it won't look as bad. What color heat is pink?

The pink light means that HID bulb is using more voltage compared to the driver's side bulb to maintain the same level of gas excitation. Basically, it means that bulb is slowly failing.
Get it replaced soon. I would replace the driver's side bulb too.

Aren't HID bulbs supposed to last a very long time? I thought I remember reading that somewhere.

I figured a bulb is a bulb. Shouldn't matter that the housing is a projector.
