I lived for a while in Saudi Arabia and all the cars I drove had a speed warning if I went over 120. Is it some sort of national regulation for cars?

I'm not a mechanic but do work on my cars. My brother has been one for 20+ years and I believe he told me one time that the car computer can tell you alot of things when they plug into them ie, rpm, throttle position, etc. I would go to a garage and ask or do a google search online.

Or you could read my post that shows the UAE has a law that triggers a speed warning.

to the garage I go

thanks guys for your input. I'm heading for the garage for a printout. Even if it costs me 50 bucks to prove to this jerk off, and the most honorable Judge of course, I was not speeding, it's all worth it.

Question of the day:
What really irritates you when you are driving?
Answer:
for me it's people who cut you off, get in front of you, then decide they're gonna drive below the speed limit.
What makes it worst?
When they do it to get in the fast lane.
What's the solution?
I wish I had a super pooper scooper to just pick them up and toss em to the side.
LOLOLO

Dude, we got your question and it's been answered... many times.

The cars come preset at 60mph US (not sure about export cars). To change it push the MENU button on the LEFT steering column stalk. Twist the stalk until it says VEHICLE SETTINGS (or similar). Find SPEED WARNING INDICATOR. Turn the stalk to OFF and press I think it's MENU to save. If you don't save it, it goes back. Now it's off.

BUT it's been stated that in UAE maybe you can't turn it off...

Now stop asking the same question!

It might not be something you can turn off if it's some national regulation in the country where you live.
