Bought a 2012 zl1, was told the remote start worked. Followed the directions, lock doors, hold for a couple of seconds, can hear a noise like it's trying to do something for a 3 or 4 seconds, but nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Mine sometimes acts up, press lock twice and hold auto start.

If you have a CEL the remote start won’t work. Just in case you have a CEL lol. And I also think it doesn’t work if the key fobs battery is dying. Not sure though

Love mine, wouldn't have it any other way and love the old B&M t handle throwback look.

A current vehicle DTC that illuminates the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL)
The vehicle is in valet mode
On passive entry equipped vehicles, an additional key fob is left in the vehicle
More than 2 remote starts have been attempted
The hazard switch is in the ON position
A current hazard switch DTC is set
The vehicle hood is ajar
A current hood ajar DTC is set
A current door ajar system fault
A vehicle door is ajar
Incorrect BCM software is installed and vehicle start is not enabled
The content theft deterrent system detects an alarm trigger
Excessive engine RPM
Excessive coolant temperature
Accelerator pedal position greater than 0 percent
Vehicle not in park
Vehicle theft deterrent malfunction
A current automatic transmission shift lock control system DTC is set
A vehicle speed sensor signal is detected by the ECM

There's a list of things that will prevent it from starting. Yes the Service Suspension message means the car thinks something is wrong so it won't remote start.

mgb, I very recently had this issue with my 2015, and posted a thread here asking for insights.
My DIC display was reading "Service Stabilitrac", which is what you seem to be expecting.
The input given to me was to disconnect the battery, wait a bit (I waited for about 20 minutes), reconnect and all should be good. The battery is very simple and quick to access.
After I did this, all was perfect.
The remote start function will not operate with a CEL showing.
Try what I did and you should be fine.
There was no objective reason for my DIC reading, if it helps with you situation. Best of luck. Let us know.
